Scholarships

McNeese State University engineering students have the following three scholarship opportunities.

  • General McNeese Scholarships
  • Endowed Engineering Scholarships
  • Other Forms of Support

General McNeese Scholarships

Prospective and current engineering students should contact the Office of Scholarships and Testing to request information and assistance in meeting their scholarship.

Each year McNeese students receive over $5 million in university and private scholarships, exemptions, and awards. The Scholarship Office coordinates the application/selection/disbursement processes for the MSU academic scholarship program. In addition, they administer the disbursement of all university non-athletic scholarships. Staff provide workshops on the scholarship search and application processes. The Scholarships Office also administers the Tuition Opportunity Program for Students (TOPS) and private scholarships awarded by various organizations, companies, and entities.

The Office of Scholarships and Testing is located in Kaufman Hall Room 156. They can be contacted at 337.475.5140, or 1.800.622.3352 Ext. 5140 or scholarships@mcneese.edu.

Their web page is located at www.mcneese.edu/scholarships/.

Endowed Engineering Scholarships

In addition to the general McNeese State University scholarships, several endowed engineering scholarships are available for undergraduate engineering students. These scholarships are made available by generous donations from local industries and private donors. The requirements and limitations for the scholarships vary widely, and include factors such as field of study, grade point average, residency, and classification level. To apply for a scholarship, fill out the on-line Scholarship Application and submit it to Dr. John Griffith, Engineering Scholarship Committee Chairman, griffith@mcneese.edu.

Scholarship applications are reviewed each June for the following academic year. Occasionally, however, some scholarships may become available mid-year, so it is a good idea to apply at any time. An updated application should be made prior to June of each year if your classification or GPA changes significantly.
