Troubleshooting
- State the benefits of problem solving in teams
- Explain the steps in a standardized process for troubleshooting
- Describe the tools commonly used to troubleshoot process operating problems
- Predict how a system will respond to operating condition changes
- Identify abnormal operating conditions
- Apply material and energy balances to a system
- Analyze controller response to operational changes
- Point out the area of the process where the problems seem to start
- Select causes that could lead to the conditions observed
- Analyze each cause to determine if it could be the root cause
- Devise a corrective action plan to address each possible root cause
