Beginning Photography for SLR Film and Digital Cameras with Interchangeable Lens
Instructor:Lynn Broussard

Make your photographs stand out by learning the basics of photography. Whether you use a digital camera or a 35mm camera, you will learn about f/stops, shutter speeds, depth of field and stopping action. We will discuss composition, lighting and picture taking techniques.

Bring your camera to class. Students will see their photos printed in a state of the art color-processing lab. A $20 supply fee includes film, developing and lab use is payable to the instructor at the first class meeting.

Digital Cameras: Understanding the Fundamentals

Are you not sure how to download,email or print a picture with that camera you got as a gift? Or, are you interested in improving the quality of your digital snapshots?

Take this course and you will learn about file types, resolution, archiving and downloading images, computer organization, image editing, and photo manipulation.

Bring your camera and instruction manual to class.

Outdoor Portrait Photography
Instructor:Lynn Broussard

Would you like to learn basic outdoor portrait lighting including available lighting, fill flash and use of reflectors? Meet us at the front steps of the Parish Court House on Ryan St. in Downtown Lake Charles to explore various outdoor backgrounds for portraits.

This practical application class will also discuss posing methods. Bring your camera and 200 or 400 ISO film or digital camera. Class continues through lunch,so we'll make a fastfood stop or bring your snack lunch. Register early, class is limited to ten students.

The Future of Photography: The Magic of HDR
Instructor:Jason Broussard

High Dynamic Range Imaging (HDR) photography is a means of capturing all the light from a scene that your eye can see, (or as much light as you care to capture) and then creatively rendering it in a picture. HDR has become increasingly popular in the last 5 years, and rightfully so.

First, you will learn how to set your camera to efficiently take a group of photos. Next, these photos will be over-laid to expose the unique lighting you have captured. Then, using a software called Photomatix, you will merge the photos to reveal one brilliantly lit photo!
