A Marsh Outing -- Tour, Crabbing & Fishing
Instructor:Jim Bel

You’re invited to Jim Bel’s Hackberry Hilton Hunting Club for an opportunity to get to learn and enjoy the marsh. We’ll meet in the McNeese Library Parking lot at 7:00 a.m. where you’ll receive a map before caravanning in your own car to Hackberry.

Jim Bel wants to share his love and respect for the marsh. You’ll see first-hand the benefits that total marsh management offers the animals, aquatics and birds of different species.

We hope to see black-necked stilts, mottled ducks, black-bellied and fulvous tree ducks, cow birds, herons, teal, cranes, roseate spoonbills and deer.

Bring your camera and your fishing pole, there will some opportunity to fish or crab. However, this is primarily a day to just enjoy the marsh.

Jim & Lana Bel invite us to stay for lunch, served in their air-conditioned camp. Then we’ll be on our way after lunch.

Prior registration and a signed Hold Harmless form are required for participation in this unique opportunity to see nature and conservation up close.
