Approximately 2,700 sixth-graders from Calcasieu and Cameron parishes are expected to participate in the 10th annual CHEM EXPO from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, in the Lake Charles Civic Center Coliseum.

Hands-on activities and demonstrations revolving around chemistry to celebrate National Chemistry Week (Oct. 18-24) will be sponsored by the McNeese Chemistry Department, Lake Area Industrial Alliance and the Southwest Louisiana Section of the American Chemical Society. More than 600 volunteers from these organizations will work this event.
