Students in the Swine Production course with Devin Gandy, Instructor of Agricultural Sciences, recently received hands-on training to weigh and classify species of hogs.
Devin and his students were a part of the classification round for participants of the Southwest District Livestock Show. Each hog was presented and Dr. Chip LeMieux, Dean of the College, was on hand to verify if the class the owner specified was correct.
Students then took this new knowledge to apply it to the hogs housed at the McNeese Farm.
