Janak Paudyal, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor of Analytical Chemistry

Chemistry and Physics

Dr. Paudyal received his PhD degree in analytical chemistry from Florida International University and a master’s degree in physical chemistry from Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, Nepal. Dr. Paudyal’s research involves a) the development of new electrochemical sensors/biosensors for the detection of various analytes of biological, forensics, and environmental significance, with the major focus on neurotransmitters. b) Validation of newly developed methods by comparing their analytical performance with standard separation-based methods (HPLC, GC-MS, ICP-MS) c) Improve sensitivity and specificity of sensors by exploring noble properties of nanomaterials and advanced data analysis tools such as machine learning.
