Charges for Security at Special Events

All security personnel are arranged and scheduled by McNeese Police.

  • If outsourced to a security firm, personnel charges may be higher than the published rate.
  • An event coordinator or organization may NOT provide its own security in lieu of security provided or arranged by McNeese.

FEE

Regular McNeese Security Personnel:
$50 per hour per officer for a minimum of 4 hours

Charges for Custodial Services at Special Events

All custodial personnel are arranged and scheduled by the University’s current janitorial service provider.

  • An event coordinator or organization may NOT provide its own cleaning crew in lieu of the University’s contracted provider.
  • Overtime rate applies when personnel have reached 40 working hours in one week.

FEE

Regular time:
$24.90 per hour per person for a minimum of 4 hours

Overtime:
$24.90 per hour per person for a minimum of 4 hours

Charges for Custodial Services at Special Events

  • Grounds preparation and clean up is handled on a case-by-case basis.
  • An estimate will be provided to the event coordinator during the request process and stated as such in the notes; the event coordinator or organization must realize that final charges after the event may be greater than estimated.
  • Each venue has its own unique characteristics, limitations and routine maintenance/prep schedules.
  • A routine field prep will generate a charge if it is requested out of season.
  • Weather can impede or ruin grounds preparation; McNeese State University will not be held responsible for bad weather.

Charges for Food Services for Special Events

  • Food service must be negotiated directly with the food service provider.
  • The University’s current food service provider has the right of first refusal on all events held on campus that will include catering; catering contractors cannot be approached and/or engaged until the university’s food service contractor has been contacted by the organizer and turns down the job.
  • The university will not collect for these charges; you will need to pay the food service directly according to their terms of contract.
 

Charges for Housing Services for Special Events

  • Housing must be negotiated directly with the university’s housing management company.
  • Student Services will relay your request to Housing.
  • The university will not collect for these charges; you will need to pay the management company directly according to their terms of contract.
 

Charges for Other Services and Personnel

  • Determined by the department having responsibility for the venue.
  • “Other Services and Personnel” covers any item not defined above for which a cost must be passed on to the organizer.
  • Examples include, but are not limited to: lifeguards, proctors, event workers, theatrical production assistants, technical directors, greeters, etc.).

Ashley Bass

I am a McNeese graduate with a bachelor's degree in Family and Consumer Science and a concentration in Child and Family Studies. As a student, I competed on the rodeo team and served on the SGA board. I earned my master’s degree in 2022 from the University of South Dakota in Educational Administration and Leadership with a concentration in Adult and Higher Ed. I have over 13 years of experience in adult education and 20 years of educational experience.

My favorite part of being a Freshman Advisor is helping students navigate their new life routine as a college freshman by offering support with in-person office visits or by email to help students meet their goals. I always remind students of my favorite BB King quote – “Education is one thing no one can ever take away from you.”  I believe that supporting students is vital to a student's success.

In my spare time, I raise registered American Brahman cattle, and I enjoy all the "country girl" things like hunting, fishing, growing a garden and cooking.
